Overt Tagging beschreibt die für den Konsumenten sichtbare Applikation eines elektronischen Sicherheitsetiketts auf einem Produkt oder einer Verpackung. Im Gegensatz dazu wird die unsichtbare Anbringung eines solchen Etiketts Covert Tagging genannt.
